Build 1080P 60 FPS Gaming PC under $500? PS4 pro Alternative? (Oct.)

October Updated

This isn’t actual PC building guide. This is to check we can really build a 1080P/60 FPS gaming rig under 500 dollars. Can this build rival PS4 pro.
2 years ago I built my entry level gaming pc.
The Specs were
Processor: I3 – 3210
MOBO: Biostar H61
GPU : Zotac 750Ti
Ram: 4GB
Case : Cooler master HAF 912
PSU: Seasonic S2 520W bronze
It was decent not spectacular but well worth the money. But today’s standard is 1080P 60fps. Can we really build 1080P 60FPS gaming rig under $500? Let’s try.

Processor: Intel i3 6100
MOBO: Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel H110 Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard GA-H110M-A
GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 3GB GDDR5 Super Compact Graphics Card (ZT-P10610A-10L)
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM Desktop Memory (HX421C14FBK2/8)
Case:
PSU: EVGA 430 W1, 80+ WHITE 430W, 3 Year Warranty, Power Supply 100-W1-0430-KR

HDD:

WD Blue 1TB SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch Desktop Hard Drive (WD10EZEX)

Price is still over $500 and still couldn't contain within $500.

Explanation of the build

The GPU is GTX 1060 which is perfect for 1080p 60fps on a budget. If you are wondering, i3 6100 bottleneck 1060? Yes you’ll see 5-10 less fps than when you pair an i5 with gtx 1060. But you still get more than 1080p/60fps+ which is our goal at $100 price gap. So it’s worth. The PSU is enough to handle all the components because our build is not power hungry and is efficient. Total power consumption is under 200W. The case is badass as well. You can replace it with something else that's even cheaper and slash the price well under 500 bucks.

My thoughts

PS4 pro still gives the best value.
